Pain is addictive

Attempted at Acrostic Only. The prompt is Pain Is Addictive.

This is about Self-Injury. The less I say about it, the better it is. However, I found this first hand experience about it and it does speak volumes of it.

Part of me, it is now.
An indestructible part,
Indifferent, I have become,
Nonetheless, to your presence.

I am no longer me.
Slave to pain, the feeling of being alive.

Alive from the passive death.
Death, the slow death from the pain
Death, unlike the death of my happiness.
It is not unlike the blood flowing from a
Cut on my arm. Painful. But
Therapeutic. It screams aloud,
"I'm alive!" Unlike my broken heart
Veins throb. I revel in
Elixir of life: Pain.

Gosh that was beauty in pain :-(
made me remember my best friend back in college who had suicidal tendencies .....and i know how i had stopped him from committing suicide two times ....it was freaking, saddening and so helpless....i never understood how can ppl be so depressing...but i know it now how life becomes so difficult that u want it to cease but these facing them only make one strong

However saddening but still i loved ur play of words...

RV, this is deep. Oh my goodness I have seen this pain before. My friend who committed suicide last year was a cutter.

Of course there is beauty in everything, even pain .. but there is also destruction.

You captured the prompt, and made it sting with pain. Bravo!

By the way, you forgot to link this to the site .. please do so.

You did justice to the theme of the prompt and I could well see the addiction of pain in this piece.
